Wolfsburg 4-1 Bayern Munich. END OF BAYERN MUNICH?

Two goals each for Bas Dost and Kevin de Bruyne saw Wolfsburgstun Bayern Munichwith an emphatic 4-1 win on Friday. The first game back after Germany's mid-season break gave Wolfsburg's players and fans the opportunity to honour the life of 20-year-old midfielder Junior Mandala, who died in a car crash earlier this month, before kick-off. Dieter Hecking's team, who were 11 points behind leaders Bayern in second before Friday's match, proceeded to give a stirring performance from the first whistle - Dost handing them a fourth-minute lead. Making only his fourth start of an injury-hit campaign, Dutch striker Dost doubled his tally in first-half stoppage time before the excellent De Bruyne took centre-stage. The Belgium international displayed visible emotion in memory of his countryman Mandala when he made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute. Although Juan Bernat hit back for Bayern two minutes later, De Bruyne would mesmerizingly turn Dante inside-out to rifle in an unstoppable fo

Oyedepo's Church Divided Over Prayer For Jonathan

PMnews reports that all attempts made by the Winners overseer, Bishop David Oyedepo, to make members of his congregation stand up to pray for President Goodluck Jonathan to win the 14 February presidential election were to no avail. It was reported that while some stood up reluctantly, other members who were not happy with Jonathan’s administration refused to stand up from their seats to pray for him. However, pastor Oyedepo was unperturbed as he finally prayed for Jonathan by himself. The said visit of the president has obviously caused a lot more havoc than blessings as the church has been under serious scrutiny and condemnation from Nigerians. President Jonathan, with some of his aides, the chief of staff tothe president, Jones Arogbofa, and the executive secretary of the Christian Pilgrim Board, Kennedy Okpara, worshipped at the church during its third service after they arrived at the church premises in a helicopter. Within a few minutes of their departure, the ”not-so-palatable”

When asked if he would love to see a celebrity rule Nigeria one day, and who the person might be and why, Davido said; ‘I think I’m good enough to be president, because it’s me, I want to be the president.’

YEE: Man knocks out friend’s teeth while arguing over 2015 election

While arguing over the winner of the upcoming presidential election, two friends – Chukwuemeka and Akpan – got into a fight at Old Ojo Road in Agboju area of Lagos State. Leadership Newspaper reports that the argument started after Chukwuemeka boasted that come rain or shine, Muhammadu Buhari would win the election, a statement opposed by his friend, Akpan who insisted that President Goodluck Jonathan remains the best person for the job. What was said to be a friendly discussion degenerated into a fight as Akpan allegedly hit Chukwuemeka in the chest. In retaliation, Chukwuemeka hit his friend across the lips. “Akpan fainted and those in the area had to use cold water to revive him. We have been friends for many years and I don’t know why the two friends who knew each other about a decade before I knew them would fight over election that they will not gain much from. As for me, I am not a fanatical supporter of any candidate so I will not fight because of any candidate,” an eyewitnes

Buhari's certificate better than the man who has PhD in Zoology — Oshiomhole

Many politicians are talking tough ahead of the February 14 presidential election. Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has declared that the PDP has run out of lies, having failed to discredit the presidential candidate of the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, over his academic qualification to contest the February 14 presidential election. The Government College, Katsina (formerly Provincial Secondary School) had on Wednesday released the 1961 credential to Buhari shortly after he had formerly requested the school to make the document available to dispel the controversy surrounding his qualification. Oshiomhole is however insisting that Buhari’s capability is not in doubt, adding that that he would secure the votes of Nigerians, even if he tendered his electricity bill Nigerians will still vote for him. The governor, who spoke during an inspection of road projects at the Egor Market in Upper Siluko area of the state capital on Thursday, said that Nigerians are tired of the current sit

UBANG—NESTLED between two mountains in Obudu Local Government Area, Cross River State, is Ubang community where the female and their male inhabitants speak separate languages and they understand themselves. For instance, whenNiger Delta Voicevisited the community, the elders led by Ogbe Sylvanus Odobi, said God descended on one of the mountains in the villages of Okiro and stood on the rock at the peak of the mountain and distributed languages. “He started with us (Ubang) since it is our mountain that He stood to distribute the languages and His footprint is still etched on that rock till today,” Odobi flanked by two others, Ochui David and Clement Obi said. His words: “It was after God had distributed the languages to the men and

Don't Campaign On Pulpit, Adeboye Warns Redeemed Pastors.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has again warned all the pastors in the church not to use the altar of the church to campaign for any politician. This will be the third time Pastor Adeboye would be issuing the warning to the pastors of the church with headquarters in Nigeria and hundreds of branches globally. He had issued a similar warning when an audio cassette authored by one Pastor Bosun, who claimed to be ordained in the RCCG, went viral. In the controversial video Pastor Bosun advised Christians not to vote for the candidates of a particular political party in the forthcoming elections. However, Pastor Adeboye swiftly disassociated the Redeemed Church from the contents of the cassette which generated discontent among politicians and political parties. Pastor Adeboye told his pastors then that the church should not be used for any political activity. He said he was not saying the pastors should not partake in polit

Di Maria: A new United will emerge

Image
Angel Di Maria was back in Manchester United's starting line-up for the first time since November when Southampton provided the opposition at the weekend. Of course, the result was a disappointing one but it was at least heartening to see the record buy at Old Trafford again. Performing in an advanced forward's role, he showed plenty of dash and purpose and can never be criticised for failing to attempt to make things happen. Much of his work is direct, whether pinging passes or accelerating into space, as he often takes the shortest route to goal. Although he was withdrawn with 20 minutes left, which was always Louis van Gaal's intention, there is an anticipation among the Reds faithful that he will have a crucial role to play in the coming weeks and months. His exact position in the side is still to be confirmed, with the boss admitting as much to MUTV recently, but there is no doubting his quality wherever he is asked to perform. Di Maria's came
