Governor Ayo Fayose shuts down Access Bank in Ado-Ekiti
Ekiti state governor Ayo Fayose has forced Access Bank in the state to shut down its operation, SaharaReporters says. Fayose’s decision came after Access Bank’s officials detained the wife and eight-month-old son of the former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode inside the bank on Monday, October 17. The detention of Precious Fani-Kayode and her son, Aragon, the bank official said, was on instructions from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The bank officials had claimed that the account which Precious tried to draw money from was flagged by the commission. It was also through the intervention of the state governor that Precious and her son were released from the bank. It was gathered that Fayose also swore that the bank would not operate in Ado-Ekiti again till the end of his tenure.
