Governor Ayo Fayose shuts down Access Bank in Ado-Ekiti

Ekiti state governor Ayo Fayose has forced Access Bank in the state to shut down its operation, SaharaReporters says. Fayose’s decision came after Access Bank’s officials detained the wife and eight-month-old son of the former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode inside the bank on Monday, October 17. The detention of Precious Fani-Kayode and her son, Aragon, the bank official said, was on instructions from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The bank officials had claimed that the account which Precious tried to draw money from was flagged by the commission. It was also through the intervention of the state governor that Precious and her son were released from the bank. It was gathered that Fayose also swore that the bank would not operate in Ado-Ekiti again till the end of his tenure. Isiaka Olagunju, general secretary of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), says it is erroneous to level allegations of corruption against the Nigeria Judicial Council (NJC). Speaking on Monday on a Raypower radio programme, The Platform, while fielding questions on the recent raid of some judges’ homes by the Department of State Services (DSS), noted It’s only in Nigeria we arrest before we investigate. He said Nigerians should not forget that a week ago, the NJC not only dismissed three judges on allegations of corruption but recommended them for prosecution. The NYSC has announced that the Orientation course for the 2016 Batch B corp members will start on the 24th of November and run through 13th December (great timing i believe for all prospective corpers). Also note that schools have started uploading names of successful candidates to the NYSC portal.  Visit the site  to check if your name has been uploaded. Real Madrid spends crazy €400m on stadium! Just look at the project!

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has discloses their latest plans to redevelop their stadium. On Tuesday president Florentino Perez and mayor Manuela Carmena presented a revised project of Real Madrid stadium.  And now The Mirror reports that the Spanish giants are looking for a sponsor to provide funding for the makeover, which will cost an anticipated £360m (€400m). The President has also confirmed that around 3000 seats will be replaced at the Bernabeu – but the capacity of 81,000 will not be increased.
