Image
The leadership of the Students’ Union of Obafemi Awolowo Uniuversity has finally broken her long silence on the suspension of some Union officers. Ojedokun Emmanuel a.k.a Immanuel Kant, the Students’ Union Public Relations Officer in a Release tagged ‘Immanuel Kant Speaks, Our Suspension and Victimization: A bullet in the Heart’, confessed that it is now due for him to break the silence on the suspension of the Union officers by either authenticating or debunking it. As expected, the PRO confirmed that their studentship has been truly suspended. “The widespread rumour needs authentication or debunking. Sequel to the suspension of union activities, the invitation of some union leaders to an investigation panel and the re-opening of the university, I must confirm to you that truthfully, our studentship has been suspended for semesters. “This decision was said to have been made at the recommendation of the Panel that was set up by the University administration. Why You Must Avoid Carryovers At All Cost As An Undergraduate

Carry overs in the university system is normal; it basically means a student has an unfinished business. A student can only carry over a course when he or she scores 39 downward in both C.A and exam (over 100). Carry overs are not in all cases a real reflection of how intelligent or not intelligent a student is, rather it's a reflection of how unserious, unsmart (if that word exist), unchecked and uninterested a student is.  I have seen highly intelligent students have numerous carry overs and relatively dull students pass through without carry overs. Such is life, that's why a coin is two sided. Carry over can also be a result of unfortunate and unlucky incidents, such as missing scripts, lecturer's attitude towards marking your script, or even a student's handwriting (that's right). I have once been a victim of an unlucky situation. I was not around Kogi State when an assignment worth 20 marks was been submitted, when I heard about it I quickly rushed back to sch

Late Oba Samuel Odulana 35131 Olufemi Atoyebi The Olubadan-in-Council on Thursday dismissed the call by the Head of Seriki family line in Ibadan, Chief Adebayo Oyediji, that the kingmakers should install him as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland. The last occupier of the throne, Oba Samuel Odugade, died on Tuesday at the age of 101, having reigned over the ancient city for eight years. By Ibadan succession system, the Balogun Olubadan, High Chief Saliu Adetunji, holds pole position to succeed the late Oba Odugade. But Oyediji, 89, had said on Wednesday that the Olubadan-in-Council would be flouting a 1989 ruling of the Supreme Court, which granted him the right to become the next king of Ibadan after Oba Odugade’s reign if it crowned 87-year-old Adetunji as the new Ibadan king. He had said, “I am the next to be installed (the) Olubadan and not Adetunji.” He claimed that the last Otun Seriki, Chief Adisa Akinloye, was denied the opportunity to become the Olubadan befo
