Fishermen find missing fighter jet near River Benue

The missing Nigerian Air Force Alpha Fighter Jet (NAF 466) may have been found at the bank of River Benue. The fighter jet, said to have been missing since September 12, was believed to have had two pilots on board before it disappeared. The plane had reportedly left the Yola International Airport at about 10:45 am on a routine operational mission to some areas in the state under attacks by members of the Boko Haram sect. The jet that was expected back by 12 noon same day had been missing since while efforts to trace it had failed. There were unconfirmed reports however on Tuesday that the plane had been found in Kwaine in the Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State. It had not been confirmed by the NAF search team as of the time of this report if the remains of the aircraft found near the River Benue belonged to the same missing fighter jet the Air Force. Dike rejects $7,000 World Cup bonus

Oklahoma State Football team forward Courtney Dike has rejected the $7000 paid to her by the Nigeria Football Federation for participating at 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada saying the honour of playing for the country was enough reward for her. The 19-year-old, who is the younger sister of Super Eagles forward Bright Dike, represented the country at the competition where she scored the fastest goal in the tournament’s history. NFF Head of Competition Sanusi Mohammed told Sports Radio,  Brila FM , that the player rejected the outstanding allowances accrued to her for representing the country at the 10-day tournament.
